There’s nothing like a Christmas market to bring about all the joy and cheer of Christmas time. And, in the Western Cape, especially Cape Town, we’re so fortunate to have a wide array of Christmas markets.
In this post, we share some of the best Christmas markets to enjoy in Cape Town in 2024:
Kuier at the Castle - Festive Edition

The historic, iconic Castle of Good Hope is where you can enjoy “Cape Town CBD’s biggest gift market”.
The Craft and Design Institute (CDI) and Castle are collaborating to bring you not one but two special festive editions! These events will offer unique shopping experiences, fun entertainment (including live performers and DJs), as well as an array of food- and artisan-stalls and much, much more.
Entrance fee: R30 per adult; R15 per child and pensioner; and free to kids under 7. There is safe parking on the Castle grounds (via the Darling Street entrance).
Date(s) and time: 30 November 2024; 14-15 December 2024, from 10am - 4pm.
The Skeppend Kersmark

Held in the beautiful Cape Winelands at Simonsvlei Wine Estate, Paarl, this annual Christmas market is always a joy to experience.
This year, however, they plan to be bigger than ever and have some 300 stalls, with the market stretching over a three-week period.
With the tranquility of the Paarl Valley surrounding you, browse or shop up a festive storm at this Cape Winelands’ Christmas market!

Christmas Market at Noordhoek Farm Village

Celebrate the spirit of Christmas with the annual Christmas Market held at the beautiful Noordhoek Farm Village.
This family-friendly market is also an important event fundraiser for Dascro NHW. And, because it’s so family-friendly, you can even bring well-behaved dogs, strictly on a leash, with!
Browse the 25 unique stalls and then enjoy a post-shopping meal at one of the restaurants.

Simply Gifts Market

Taking place at Sans Souci High School, Newlands, this annual gift and craft market is not to be missed!
The family-centred Simply Gifts Market is the perfect market to enjoy in the run-up to Christmas, especially for those Southern Suburbs dwellers among us!
This indoor market offers a relaxing, fun shopping experience, while also showcasing some excellent local vendors and their wares.
Entrance fee: Free
Date(s) and time: 9 - 23 December 2024, Monday to Friday, 9am - 6.30pm and on weekends from 9am - 4pm.
